About Us

This is more than catering—it’s personal.

Mental Meats Catering Team

Who We Are

This business was built on more than recipes—it was built on experience, empathy, and purpose.

People often ask about the name Mental Meats. The name came from a former client I worked with while serving individuals facing addiction and mental health challenges. During that work, we focused on leading with attraction rather than promotion—creating curiosity, connection, and motivation instead of pressure.

When someone is operating from fear, motivation doesn’t come easily. I learned that encouragement, authenticity, and meeting people where they are can make all the difference. The name Mental Meats reflects that mindset: it’s memorable, honest, and invites conversation rather than forcing a message.

Just like in my work, food can be a way to draw people in naturally. It creates connection, comfort, and shared experience. The name represents resilience, creativity, and the belief that meaningful change—whether in life or business—comes from approachability, consistency, and heart.

Working with people I trust ensures that every event is handled with care, accountability, and consistency. As Mental Meats Catering continues to grow, so will the team, while maintaining the same heart, dedication, and authenticity that guide us today.

About Chef Jacob

At the center of Mental Meats is a chef who leads with craft, care, and intention.

I’m the owner and chef behind a catering company built around smoked meats, grilled food, and doing things the right way. I believe great barbecue comes from patience, care, and respect for the craft—whether it’s slow-smoked brisket, tender ribs, or perfectly grilled meats shared with good people.

I lead with empathy and compassion because I understand that everyone has a story. I’ve experienced my own peaks and valleys, and that perspective shapes how I work with clients, teams, and communities. I know how meaningful it is to be treated with respect, understanding, and honesty—especially when planning something important.

While I recognize that money matters, it has never been my primary motivation. What drives me is living my dream, serving others through food, and creating moments that bring people together. I take pride in being dependable, approachable, and present in every part of the process—from planning to the final plate.

At the end of the day, my goal is simple: serve good food with heart, provide reliable service, and create an experience that feels welcoming, thoughtful, and memorable.
